Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the Veild browser extension ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not install or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Veild.

2. Description of Service

Veild is a browser extension that automatically detects and redacts potentially sensitive information (including but not limited to API keys, passwords, credentials, and personal data) from text before you paste it into AI assistant interfaces. The Service processes all data locally on your device and requires an account to function.

3. Account Requirements

To use the Service, you must create an account and provide a valid email address. You are responsible for:

  • •Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • •All activities that occur under your account
  • •Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Free Service

Veild is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features, modify pricing, or discontinue the Service at any time without prior notice. No refunds will be provided for any paid features.

5. User Responsibilities

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • •You are solely responsible for reviewing all redacted output before sharing with any third party
  • •The Service may not detect all sensitive information in your content
  • •You must ensure compliance with your organization's security policies and applicable laws
  • •You will not rely solely on the Service for data protection

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • •Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • •Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service
  • •Use the Service to process content you do not have the right to share
  • •Circumvent any access or security measures

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, VEILD DOES NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • •All sensitive data will be detected and redacted
  • •The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • •The results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable
  • •Any errors in the Service will be corrected

Veild is a tool to assist with data protection, not a guarantee of complete security. You acknowledge that no security tool can guarantee 100% detection of sensitive information.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VEILD, ITS CREATORS, AFFILIATES, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • •Loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunities
  • •Unauthorized access to or disclosure of your data
  • •Failure to detect or redact sensitive information
  • •Any actions taken by third-party AI platforms
  • •Interruption or cessation of the Service

THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY (CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE) AND EVEN IF VEILD HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL VEILD'S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE (WHICH MAY BE ZERO FOR FREE USERS).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Veild and its creators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • •Your use of the Service
  • •Your violation of these Terms
  • •Your violation of any rights of any third party
  • •Any content you process through the Service

10. Intellectual Property

The Veild name, logo, software, and all associated intellectual property are the exclusive property of Veild. The Service is proprietary software provided free of charge for personal and commercial use under a limited license. You may not:

  • •Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the extension or its source code
  • •Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code
  • •Redistribute, sell, rent, lease, or sublicense the extension
  • •Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices or labels
  • •Use the Veild name or logo without prior written permission

11. Third-Party Services

Veild is designed to work with third-party AI platforms (including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity). Your use of those platforms is governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies. Veild is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any actions taken by these third-party platforms. Any data you share with these platforms (even after redaction) is subject to their policies.

12. Modifications to Terms and Service

We reserve the right to modify these Terms or the Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.

13. Termination

You may terminate your use of the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension and deleting your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without prior notice or liability. Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms that should survive termination shall remain in effect.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain and the European Union, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain. You waive any objection to venue in such courts.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Veild regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.

17. No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver of any provision shall only be effective if in writing and signed by Veild.
